From school to life, there and back.

There are almost 300,000 students with disabilities in Italian schools, 3.5% of the student population. This is the figure recorded in the latest ISTAT report published at the end of 2020, which confirms the growth trend of recent years (+13,000). In the same period, students with special educational needs have also increased by 29%.

Facing increasing fragility, the National Institute of Statistics also notes a growing number of support teachers, while the support of assistants for communication and independence, accessibility for those with motor difficulties and aids for sensory disabilities are still very poor. Technological infrastructure is also insufficient.

In this context, the project INCLUSI falls into place. From school to life, there and back. Partners along with 52 other institutions from 5 different regions will be engaged in the next three years in promoting a school and a territory fair and accessible to all, through technology, professional skills of teachers and educators, public and media representation of fragility, training and career guidance. The project, led by the Consolida consortium of Trento, is financed by Con i Bambini as part of the National Fund for the fight against educational poverty.
